#SolidarityWithJasmine Call to Action

from the Black Lives of UU Organizing Collective

Moved by our fellow Black Lives Matter activists around the country, we are compelled to issue this faith-wide call to support Jasmine Richards, the SoCal BLM activist unjustly sentenced to 90 days in prison for “felony lynching” this week.

This miscarriage of justice has created a wave of action around the country to make clear our intent to fight until Jasmine is free. Click here to learn more about Jasmine’s case & conviction.

In #SolidarityWithJasmine, Black Lives of UU lead organizers are joining with dozens of other activists in making 90-day spiritual and physical commitments of support.

We invite our fellow UUs and all those who believe in freedom to stand in #SolidarityWithJasmine.

You can support this effort in a number of ways.

• Join us in making 90-day pledges to honor Jasmine’s sacrifice and commitment. We have created a #SolidarityWithJasmine page on our website where you can share your pledge/commitment of support.
• Write Jasmine a letter of support. We want to ensure Jasmine feels all this love throughout her 90-days.
• Purchase a #SolidarityWithJasmine T-shirt. All proceeds will go directly to Jasmine’s jail account via Black Lives of UU.
• Tell Gov. Brown to Pardon Jasmine “Abdullah” Richards by signing this petition. Once you have signed, be sure to share it with your friends & family.
